Track Your Nutrients

Yeah, so it's been a while. I don't know what I've been doing, but blogging is not it. I have lots of photos, but now can't remember how I made the food in said photos. Maybe I can start from scratch tomorrow. Ha.

Anyhoo...I just completed a project about iron and was introduced to this cool little nutrient tracker. You can just enter in your daily food and it gives you data on your nutrient intake and whether or not you're meeting your nutrient needs. I was shocked to find out we are rather iron deprived around here, so I'm going to have to work on that. Iron rich meals to come. I was also delightfully surprised that we get PLENTY of protein. I figured, but for some reason that's always everyone else's concern when they find out you (or your child) don't really eat meat. I was extremely disappointed to find out that our sodium intake is pretty high. I'll have to work on that, too. It takes a little patience to enter everything in, and the program doesn't have everything we eat, but it's still a pretty cool tool.
