Christmas Sugar Cookies

We had big plans to make cute little Christmas sugar cookies the other day. I even bought cookie cutters and looked up frosting recipes and everything. So, last Wednesday morning, Graham and I made this dough, and I let it chill as recommended. (There has been a lot more cooking than blogging going on in this house lately). When he woke up from his nap, I got it out of the fridge and....I couldn't find my rolling pin. But it's cool, we just rolled the dough into logs and sliced the cookies right off. Homemade slice and bake cookies! I can't promise they were any healthier than the store bought kind, but at least I knew what was in them (and how to pronounce it). Now, the fun sugar decor we sprinkled on top before we baked them is another story. Graham's favorite were the stars. We even took a big plate of them to school the next day. They were pretty tasty. Turns out my rolling pin was at a friend's house from last year when she made Christmas cookies. That's just sad that I haven't missed it in a year. I still have half of the dough in the fridge. We may have to actually roll that batch out, but it probably won't happen. Maybe next year.
